Mistake #3: Arrogance in prayer

Human beings have not come into existence by their own accord. Allāh [Subḥānahū Wa Ta'ālā], in His infinite wisdom, has created man to worship Him and to work righteousness on this Earth:

“I (Allāh) created not the Jinn and mankind except to worship me (Alone).” [Qur’ān 51:56]

Nothing can ever be, except by the Divine Decree of the Almighty. We cannot expect to do things on our own without saying “InShā Allāh” (if Allāh wills).

Therefore, it is the duty of a Muslim to pray to Allāh, to seek sincerely and to remain hopeful of the mercy of Allāh. You can’t do it on your own – turn to Allāh, in Him is our ultimate refuge.
