Homemade Velveeta Cheese
1 Tbsp water
1 1/2 tsp powdered unflavored gelatin
1/2 cup colby jack cheese, grated
1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 cup swiss cheese, grated
1 Tbsp non-fat or whole dry milk powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons whole milk
1 Tbsp water
1 1/2 tsp powdered unflavored gelatin
1/2 cup colby jack cheese, grated
1/2 cup sharp cheddar cheese, grated
1/2 cup swiss cheese, grated
1 Tbsp non-fat or whole dry milk powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/8 tsp cream of tartar
1/2 cup plus 2 tablespoons whole milk
Line a loaf pan with plastic wrap hanging over the edges of the pan. This is to ensure easy removal from the pan when cheese ready to use.
In a small bowl put 1 Tablespoon of water, sprinkle gelatin on top, let sit 5 minutes.
In food processor place grated cheese, dried milk, salt and cream of tartar. Pulse to mix about 5 or 6 times.
Bring milk to a boil over medium heat, whisking to prevent scorching. Remove form heat; add gelatin stirring until it dissolves.
With your food processor running add hot milk into cheese mixture. Blend until the mixture is combine and velvety smooth.
Immediately pour the cheese mixture into your prepared pan. Chill in a fridge for at least 3 hours or overnight
Wrap in foil and store in fridge.
